About the Game

Raise the fallen. Climb the tower.

RANOKA is a dark fantasy tactical roguelite about a child necromancer at the bottom of a vast tower of death. Ranoka wakes among corpses, binds the fallen to her side, and begins the long climb toward the power that be.

She is not a chosen hero. She is not a merciful savior. She is a small, stubborn girl that the dead follow when she tells them to get up.

Command the Dead in Tactical Battles

Fight turn-based battles on a hex grid where positioning matters. Build a party from knights, rangers, clerics, mages, rogues, adventurers, skeletons, zombies, golems, and the rivals who tried to stop you.

  • Use class roles, stances, reactions, flanking, surfaces, traps, healing, and displacement to control the battlefield.

  • Adapt to alternate objectives including beacon defense, King o the Hill, collapsing arenas and escort encounters.

  • Push through enemy parties and raise them from the dead to join you afterwards.

Build a Party From What the Tower Leaves Behind

Defeated enemies are not always gone. Some can become companions. Between battles, return to the hideout to adjust your roster, reshape loadouts, tend wounds, and decide who climbs with Ranoka next.

  • Recruit fallen rivals and strange undead allies after victory.

  • Develop bonds between companions as their personalities and memories surface again.

  • Manage wounds, revive countdowns, and the threat of permanent loss across the run.

  • Collect artifacts that twist the rules of combat, from safer movement and stronger flanks to cursed tradeoffs.

Climb the Tower of Death

Every run pushes Ranoka upward through a tower that feels less like a place and more like a throat. Choose your route on the node map: take fights, visit the hideout, seek a merchant, find a healer, uncover story events, or face the boss waiting at the next gate.

  • Climb through 40+ floors, from forgotten roads and old crypts to plague fields, orc war camps, golem mines, and the tower's final ascent.

  • Loesing is not the end but you will drop some floors and climb them again!

  • Recover, rebuild, and return stronger when the climb breaks your party.

Features

  • Turn-based hex-grid tactical combat built around positioning, class roles, stances, reactions, flanking, and surface hazards.

  • Command a growing undead party across six hero classes: Knight, Ranger, Cleric, Mage, Rogue, and Adventurer.

  • Recruit defeated rivals and fallen enemies, then reshape your roster between floors.

  • Climb a 40+ floor tower with node-map choices including fights, hideout visits, merchants, healers, story events, and boss gates.

  • Experiment with artifacts that grant run-wide advantages, strange synergies, and dangerous tradeoffs.

  • Manage wounds, revives, bonds, and the threat of permanent loss as the climb grows harsher.

  • Face varied encounter objectives, including standard battles, defending a beacon, holding ground, escaping collapsing arenas, and escorting vulnerable units.

  • Uncover a dark fantasy story about necromancy, grief, memory, and a child who may become something worse than the tower.
