About the Game

Chess — seen through a different geometry.

Radial Chess preserves the complete ruleset of classical chess while transforming the board into a curved radial structure wrapped around a central axis.

Every rule remains intact:

  • Pieces move exactly as they do in traditional chess

  • Check, checkmate, castling, and draws all function normally

  • The full 64-square game is preserved

But the board itself has changed.

Ranks bend into circular arcs. Diagonals curve across the play space. Familiar positions become unfamiliar at a glance, forcing you to rethink pattern recognition, direction, and spatial awareness.

You already know how to play.

Your brain just has to learn how to see it again.

CLASSICAL CHESS — REINTERPRETED

Radial Chess does not reinvent chess with new pieces or altered mechanics.

Instead, it transforms how chess is visually processed.

Openings, tactics, forks, pins, discovered attacks, mating nets — all the strategic depth of classical chess remains fully intact. The challenge comes from interpreting those ideas inside a radically different spatial layout.

What once felt instantly readable now requires deliberate thought.

FEATURES

  • Full classical chess ruleset preserved

  • Unique radial board geometry

  • Single-player matches against Stockfish

  • Local hot-seat multiplayer

  • Curved ranks, files, and diagonals that reshape spatial perception

  • Familiar chess strategy viewed through an unfamiliar visual structure

PLAY AGAINST STOCKFISH

Challenge an AI opponent powered by the official Stockfish chess engine using standard UCI integration.

The engine itself is completely unchanged — meaning every victory is earned against authentic classical chess logic.

A DIFFERENT WAY TO EXPERIENCE CHESS

Traditional chess players rely heavily on linear pattern recognition developed through repetition and experience.

Radial Chess disrupts that instinct.

Positions that would normally be recognized instantly must be mentally reconstructed through curved geometry and altered spatial relationships. The rules stay the same, but the perception of the game changes entirely.

The result is not a new chess variant.

It is classical chess viewed through a different spatial lens.
