About the Game

Proximity Effect is a Sci-Fi Adventure/Horror/Action story-driven game with shooter elements.

The game environment is an exact 1:1 recreation of the famous Robben Island, set many years in the future. GIS data from satellites as well as years of research and geographical information have been used to create the exact island as it would be in a highly futuristic post-apocalyptic setting containing every square meter of ground and many famous landmarks.

Serving as a prequel to our earlier titles, this game is developed by a larger, more experienced team. It delves deeper into the lore, expands the universe, and builds upon the vision of a dedicated indie studio committed to delivering a handcrafted FPS experience.

The game will be available in September 2027. In the meantime, you can stay up to date with development here or apply to be a part of our early Beta testing program.

The story is as follows:

The world is ending — and the last line of defense is in orbit.

From aboard the S.E.V. Arcadia — a massive research vessel affectionately called The Prawn — you’re deployed to a collapsing Earth to track down a rogue scientist. After stealing advanced tech and vanishing beneath the rocky formations of Robben Island, someone is building something underground: synthetic soldiers, giant robotic insects, and worse.

You’ll drop in to find him — and stop whatever’s coming next.
