About the Game

Project North is a first-person submarine exploration game set in the late 19th century, where you navigate beneath Arctic ice in a specially modified submarine. Using nothing but a 3D sonar to see in the crushing darkness, you chart dangerous passages, repair vital systems, and document your findings in a hand-written journal.

Explore. Survive. Discover.

  • Navigate the frozen depths – Pilot your submarine through jagged ice tunnels and crushing pressure zones, using sonar as your only guide.

  • Manage and repair your vessel – Balance your submarine’s systems, monitor damage, and make quick decisions to stay alive.

  • Document your journey – Keep a logbook filled with notes and sketches of your discoveries, which secure funding for future expeditions.

Gameplay loop

  • Short term: Each expedition challenges you to survive the ice maze, record what you uncover, and find a surfacing point to end your mission safely.

  • Long term: Publish your journals to gain fame and funding, upgrade your submarine, and take on harder missions as you draw closer to solving the North Pole’s greatest mystery.

The challenge of the deep
Every dive is a test of planning and execution. Allocate your resources before departure, then adapt to emergencies below the ice. The further north you travel, the more dangerous and claustrophobic the passages become, pushing both your submarine and your skill to the limit.
