About the Game

PP INFLATION is an incremental/idle game paying tribute to classic Ping Pong games, except you don't control your paddle. Instead, spend points on upgrades and maximize your points-per-minute.

Choose Your Upgrades

At certain score milestones, pick from random upgrades to unlock, and level them up as you earn more points. Your build takes shape one decision at a time and compounds the further you go. Freely reallocate skill points to optimize your point-income.

Skills and Synergies

Unlocked skills range from passive income, to debuffs for the enemy paddle, to buffs for your own paddle. Some naturally combine well together, while others have special synergies or unlock other skills that make them even more powerful. A few examples:

  • FIRE BALL ignites the enemy paddle, sending it into a panic. This skill unlocks PYROMANIA.

  • CANNON BALL stuns the enemy on impact, or extends an active burn from FIRE BALL. This skill unlocks CANNON BOMB.

  • MONEY BALL rolls a chance for a bonus point every goal. This skill unlocksĀ GOLD BALL.

  • GREASE BALL makes the enemy paddle slip and slide around clumsily, combining well with FIRE BALL.

  • SLIME BALL slows the enemy paddle on hit, or makes GREASE BALL even more slippery.

Leveling up your skills costs increasing amounts of points, so you decide between specializing or spreading your points around. Eventually, you'll unlock the exponentially more powerful "SPECIAL SKILLS", which can drastically multiply your point gains based on your build, such as granting points every time the ball bounces or granting a % of your total at regular intervals.

Stages and Victory

Score enough points and you'll progress to the NEXT STAGE. Each stage has a theme and a few unique flavor interactions with the stage environment that can even earn you extra points, such as busting asteroids, opening treasure chests, or exploding mines.

Each stage requires exponentially more points to reach. Once you complete all stages, your CLEAR TIME and peak PTS/MIN are recorded on a personal leaderboard.

Soundtrack

PP INFLATION comes loaded with 55 tracks of retro-electronic, chiptune, and EDM music by Lesiakower. Titles range from high-energy (Full Speed Ahead, Epic Battle, The Mayhem) to atmospheric chiptune (Bitwise, I Dream in Keygen, Pixel Perfect). An in-game music player lets you see what's playing and skip tracks, loop the current stage song, or shuffle them all.
