About the Game

Pocket Squire: Arena is a single-player turn-based combat game built around one simple, punishing structure: 5 themed arenas, 9 fights each, with no rest in between.

You play a squire stepping into the arena as one of 18 combat classes, a handful of gold, and a backpack of potions. Every turn is a choice. Attack, defend, unleash a special, or burn a potion to keep yourself alive for the next fight. HP carries over from monster to monster within an arena, so the fight you win at full health and the fight you win at 8 percent feel completely different. The second one might be the one that ends your run.

The gauntlet

5 arenas, 45 unrelenting battles, 1 squire. Defeat sends you back to the very beginning. Yielding sends you home but you get to keep your winnings. Clearing all 5 arenas will be an achievement, because most attempts will not.

18 classes, dozens of play styles

Pick from 18 distinct combat classes, plus 1 hidden class waiting to be discovered. Each comes with its own stat priorities, special attacks, talents to purchase, and synergies. The class you choose to step into the arena as is the first build decision. Everything else flows from it.

Power-ups, synergies, and fusions

Every run, you draw from a pool of 45 power-ups. Some are simple stat boosts. Many combine in unexpected ways. A few will fuse with each other into entirely new effects when the right pieces line up. Two runs with the same class can play completely differently depending on what the arena gives you.

50 Talents to unlock

The longer you play, the more your squire grows. Unlock talents as your squire grows to shape your build around the class you are running, the power-ups you tend to favor, or the arena that keeps beating you. Some are foundational. Some only matter once or twice a run, but matter a lot.

Decisions that matter

The depth is in the small choices that compound across 45 fights. Defend now to save HP for fight 7, or push through with attacks? Burn the medium potion on this monster or save it for the boss? Yield with 3 arenas left to fight another day?

Multiple endings

How your run ends, and whether you find every ending, depends on the choices you make on the way there.
