About the Game

WHEN YOU'RE ASLEEP, THEY'RE DEAD. WHEN YOU'RE AWAKE: THEIR DEAD.

The engine can render 2,200 zombies at once while maintaining around 200-400 FPS; 2,800 at ~186 FPS. A pulsing and receding tide surges and retracts throughout the levels, and a kill counter that reads per second. Planet Zombie starts as a scarce, quiet boomer shooter on a rooftop at night and descends, level by level, act by act into a nine act first-person bullet heaven. Fifty levels and an ascent afterwards that warrants seeing before telling.

THE DESCENT

One continuous campaign, straight down: the tower, the tunnels, the sewers, a white place called THE OTHER SIDE OF NOWHERE, the harvest-grounds of JERUSALEM, the burning city BEYOND THE WALL, the mirror-floored HEIGHTS where you walk on the crowd's reflection, a green place that ticks Roentgens. Nine acts. Fifty levels. The names decompose and rot like the streets, or maybe like your mind. By the bottom they are ancient names and ancient places.

THE WEAPONS

  • GRENADE LAUNCHER (special weapon appropriated on a special mission)

  • PISTOL

  • SHOTGUN

  • RIFLE

  • MG

  • MINE

  • TRIPWIRE

  • FENCE BLOCK

  • DENSITY CHARGE

  • NUKEULATOR (you don't really want this...)

  • FRAG

  • And an offhand pistol that is a a six-shell sweeper assisting in kills at the same time you fire other weapons

THE MASS

  • Aggro spreads through the crowd like wildfire

  • Fire spreads body to body and the zombies catch each other alight.

  • The dead pile into terrain: mounds that crest your fences, ramps the living climb and hinder their approach

  • Walls of the standing dead seal whole streets: route around, or make a door with bullets or fire, and commit before it closes

  • Your guns level from your kills and at pistol mastery your off-hand weapon comes and starts auto-covering you on its own

  • Keep descending and the MG becomes a trident, firing forward, to the left and to the right

FOUR WAYS DOWN

EASY - HARD - IMPOSSIBLE - ONE LIFE (die once, restart the entire descent).

THE CRAFT

Single player with FULL controller support. 640×360, nearest-neighbor, integer-scaled. Original 21 song soundtrack.
