Orpheus: Echo of Hades

Eurydice died on an ordinary autumn day — in a garden, among flowers, while Orpheus sat beneath an apple tree finishing his melody. Now the greatest musician of his time packs a bag and heads somewhere the living aren't usually allowed to go.

About the Game

Description

ORPHEUS: ECHO OF HADES is a visual novel based on the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. The story is narrated by Hermes — an ironic and decidedly biased participant in the events.

Along the way you will encounter Charon's crossing, the throne room of Hades, the schemes of the goddess Hecate, and the hardest trial of all: three steps to the exit, with nothing but silence behind you.

The game will offer you:

  • Three endings — the canonical one, the happy one, and the one the poets chose not to write down. Which you reach depends on your choices throughout the game.

  • Rhythm mini-game: play Orpheus' song before Hades — the outcome determines how the lord of the dead responds and how events unfold from there.

  • Video effects, atmospheric scene transitions, and dynamic character sprites.

  • A single ending takes about 45 minutes – 1 hour. All three branches — up to 3 hours total.
