Odin's Chess

A clash of gods played over sixty four squares. Three rule sets share one board: a classical match of kings, a variant where you raise your host from a hand of cards, and a roguelike where every kill reshapes the killer.

About the Game

A clash of gods, played over sixty four squares.

Two thrones face each other across the board. The old gods bring their feuds here, where spears become pieces and Ragnarok plays out one move at a time. Three rule sets share the same field. Pick the contest that suits your hand.

Classic Chess

The old game of kings, as mortals have played it for a thousand winters. Castling, en passant, promotion, check, checkmate, stalemate, threefold repetition, and the fifty move rule. Every law of the contest, kept as it was given.

Odin's Gambit

A chess variant where you raise your host as you play. Each turn, every warrior on your board marches once, in the order they answered your call. Beside the board you hold a hand of cards, each one a piece waiting to be set down. Spend a card each turn, plant a new warrior on its home square, and build your army as the match unfolds. Same goal as chess: cut down the enemy king.

Odin's Bounty

Odin's Gambit with a roguelike layer. Every foe your warrior fells leaves something behind. A level, a gift, a piece of their spirit. At the end of your turn, choose one of two boons for the slayer: greater reach, a new direction, the art of leaping over a kinsman, a second strike after a kill, and many more. By the time the last king falls, your warriors are unrecognizable from the ones that took the field. No two matches unfold the same way.

Three paths into battle

  • The hearth. Two players, one device. A curtain falls between turns so neither side glimpses the other's hand.

  • Versus. Host a match and share the join code. Battle anyone, anywhere. Best of three, five, or seven series.

  • Alone against the gods. Solo play in any of the three contests.

A fair contest

  • No tribute. No premium relics. No merchants at the gate. Earn what you want by playing.
