STORY

The day after being fired from the horrible company he had been working at for many years, Shoichi Harama arrives on a remote southern island located hundreds of kilometers from the city.

Though he has no regrets about losing his job, he was still worried about his future. That is, until “Sensei,” the old man responsible for him being fired in the first place, gives him an offer―to help him manage an island.

All three members of the Kowakame family; the mother, Nanami; her older daughter, Maki; and her younger daughter, Nono, more than welcome Shoichi as the island’s manager. He feels his battered mind and body starting to heal as their generous hospitality washes away the stresses of society...

CHARACTERS

Nanami Kowakame

A mother of two living in the Otomehara Islands. Kind and maternal, if a little meek. While normally the mild-mannered mom, she also serves as her island’s mediator.

Great at all manner of housework. Loves interacting with her beloved daughters, but due to her somewhat naive nature, she sometimes struggles to keep up with their conversations.

Maki Kowakame

The older daughter of the Kowakame family. Diligent, with a strong sense of responsibility. Quite enthusiastic about taking care of the protagonist at Sensei’s request.

Despite her dislike of men after growing up with a violent father, she has nothing but absolute trust in Sensei. While a little wary of Shoichi at first, she is relieved to find his personality resembles Sensei’s—albeit a bit more timid.

Nono Kowakame

The younger daughter of the Kowakame family. A little immature for her age, and shy to boot.

Although grateful to Sensei for helping her family, she sees him more as a kindly grandfather than the man of the house.
