About the Game

Why do demons possess people? To escape hell? To redeem themselves? Are they acting independently, or following orders from a greater power? The Unexplained Phenomena and Cases Agency (UPCA) was established to answer these questions.

Gameplay

  • 2 to 3 hours to complete: 65% dialogue, 30% puzzle, 5% combat

  • speak to 18 characters

  • word puzzles (screenshot 4) = Read the minds of criminals to find out if they're guilty, or possessed.

  • upgrade mind reading powers = 5 active, and 3 passive powers (screenshot 5)

  • shooting (screenshot 2, 3) = defeat evil ghosts before they hurt more people

  • photograph ghosts (screenshot 7) to collect evidence for the UPCA

Art

  • each character's face will change to react to each line of dialogue. Characters have 10 to 30 facial expressions.

  • ~30 rooms, and interiors

  • weather effects = clouds, mist, rain, snow

Music = dark ambient, dreamy and lonely feel

  • instruments = muted piano, string, wind, bass, occasional drum

  • slow tempo, long notes
