About the Game

Somewhere in the void there is an asteroid with a Void Core burning at the centre of it, and it is yours to keep. Null Keeper is a sci-fi lair-builder in the spirit of the dungeon-management classics — except your dungeon is a rock in deep space, your minions arrive through Warp Rifts, and the heroes kicking your door in are the Vanguard.

Dig it out. Fill it with things that bite. Hold the Core.

Designate tunnels and watch them get carved through the rock, then claim the floor you've opened and build on it. Vaults for the riches you shouldn't have. Habitats to keep your creatures fed and housed. BioSynth labs, Combat Simulators, and the support rooms that quietly keep an evil operation from falling over.

Every room costs floor space, and floor space is the one resource the asteroid will not give you more of without more digging. Where you put the Core relative to everything else is the first real decision you make, and you make it before you know what's coming.

The Vanguard know exactly what you have and they escalate. Each raid arrives better equipped than the last, walks in through whatever you left open, and heads straight for the Core.

So build the route they have to take. Layer the defenses, post your creatures where a breach turns into a bottleneck, and make the inside of your own base the worst possible place to be a hero with a plan.

Lose the Core and it's over — not a life lost, a run lost. Everything you dug, claimed, summoned and stacked is downstream of the one room you can't afford to leave reachable.

Through all of it, MALACHAR — your fully voiced resident AI — narrates. It has opinions about your leadership. All of them are sarcastic. Most of them are right.

Or the raid breaks on your defenses, the Core keeps burning, and the void gets to keep its keeper a little longer. Then the next wave comes, bigger, and you find out whether the base you built was actually good or just lucky.
