About the Game

Following the mysterious disappearance of the previous cashier at local video rental store, Neighborhood Video, you are contracted as an amateur private investigator to case the place while undercover. In between browsing shelves and mopping floors, follow clues left behind by the missing employee by completing escape room puzzles and perusing the film database. Translate ciphers, combine objects, and hunt for hidden messages to uncover a blockbuster conspiracy. Between employees vanishing without a trace, the impending threat of rival video stores, and hints at cult activity, find more than you bargained for - all for minimum wage.

To maintain your cover and please the manager, return outstanding tapes each night by brainstorming through 3D point and click escape room style puzzles. Clean the store, inspect aisles from top to bottom, and cleverly utilize items to successfully close up shop.

Deduce puzzle solutions by browsing the Neighborhood Video Film Database. Read private emails, delve into customer rental history, and eyeball the booming collection of (fake) film classics to progress through cryptic clues.

Solve the cashier’s disappearance by interpreting the surreptitious breadcrumb trail left between the tapes. Uncover hidden messages that reveal what appears to be a simple missing persons case may be a larger conspiracy in plain sight.
