About the Game

Dwarves have chosen you. Will you lead them?

A new land, a new opportunity. Will you build a settlement, a fortress, a Mountainhall?

Mountainhall is a first-person colony sim. Most games in the genre hand you a cursor and a view from above. This one drops you inside the fortress. You play the overseer, on foot. You help dig the tunnels. You set down the workshops. And when the goblins arrive, you'll lead them into battle.

A home worth fighting for

Your dwarves look to you, but they have lives of their own. They make friends and pick fights, fall in love and hold grudges, celebrate and grieve. Lead them well and one might vanish into a workshop for days and return with an artifact the whole hall remembers for generations. Lead them badly and, well, you'll find out what dwarven temper looks like.

The mountain will test you. Water goes where water wants, so open the wrong seam and you'll be bailing out the bedrooms by dawn. Magma waits in the deep. Granite laughs at a copper pick, but forge a steel one and follow the right vein, and you'll pour your first bar of bronze from ore you dug and smelted yourself.

Above, the seasons turn. Traders come to haggle. Winter comes to see if you were ready. And some seasons the goblins come to see if you're worth conquering.

Build it. Then hold it.

The mountain never stays safe for long. A hard winter can cost you as much as an enemy. Beasts stalk the deep dark and the woods above. And the greater your hall grows, the more the goblins decide it ought to be theirs. There's no finish line here, only the fortress you keep raising and the threats that keep testing it. Every great hall becomes a story, remembered as much for how it fell as for how it rose. What will they say about yours?

Early Access

Mountainhall is early. The simulation underneath already runs deep. What's still being built is the shell around it: a tutorial, real settings, and a longer game to sink into. Early Access is where the rest gets made, shaped by the people playing it. Play it, break it, tell us what you love or hate, and that's what gets built next.
