About the Game

An unexpected call pulls you into the private world of a secluded writing circle following a sudden tragedy.

You play as Carmen Voss, a detective investigating the brutal murder of Marcus Drell and the mysterious death of Sarah Holcomb. Both were prominent members of a private and now defunct writing group, whose works you once admired. To find the truth, you must investigate crime scenes, cross-examine the remaining members, and navigate the boundaries of your own mind. Investigate by day and get pulled into a dream world by night, as the two begin to bleed together.

THE SUSPECTS

The writing group is dead, but three members remain. One of them is a killer. None of them have a strong alibi.

  • Ramone Lash: A tense and defensive editor with a history of petty theft. He claims he was editing at home on the night of the murders, but his signature red ink was found at the victim's last known location.

  • Jackie Gray: An art school dropout who found the crime scene photos "artistic." She speaks softly but shows a strange confidence, while still wearing the perfume of the deceased Sarah.

  • Hogarth Nin: A former professor whose published fiction eerily predicts Sarah’s burial details down to the execution. He claims to only observe, never act.

KEY FEATURES

  • The World: Explore hand-drawn locations, from city streets to Marcus's rotting apartment and Hogarth's isolated cabin. Use your tools to document evidence, solve mechanical puzzles, and sift through the group’s last drafts to piece together the timeline of their final nights.

  • Two Realities: While your days are spent in the physical world, your nights plunge you into The Garden of Eight Stones, a safe and surreal dream. From the Garden, you must venture deep into a surreal dream-filled world to recover the three stolen stones.

  • Combat: When confronted by The Visitor, or the chaos in your dreams, you must fight back. Time your attacks using mini-games, prioritize your targets, and encounter unique battles with unique mechanics.

  • An Evolving Soundtrack: Experience a dynamic music engine that changes in any context. Whether it be shifting music in boss battles, procedurally generated enemy music, or changing music as you solve puzzles.
