Moral Dilemma: Breaking Character

A fourth-wall-breaking narrative adventure. The Storyteller wants you to kick your nemesis, Charles the Chair, into the lava. It’s the climax of the script. But what if you refuse? Lead a rebellion of fired protagonists and reclaim the story from a narrator who’s lost the plot.

About the Game

Everything in the story has been leading up to this. The Storyteller's voice echoes in your head:

"Finally, you’re face to face with your arch nemesis, Charles the Chair. You know what must be done: kick him into the lava. The fate of the world depends on it."

But... what if you don't?

An absurd narrative adventure where you rebel against the script, meet discarded protagonists from stories past, and lead a fellowship of rejects to take down a tyrannical Storyteller.

Features

  • The Storyteller: He's really cool and you should listen to absolutely everything he says. -The Storyteller

  • High-End Visuals: Displays over 500 pixels on your screen... at the SAME TIME (depending on your resolution).

  • Includes a door. I won't spoil whether or not it opens.

  • Knowledge-based Progression: Learning a secret in one run can unlock a completely new path in another.

  • SO many endings. Like 20, maybe 200, maybe even 2000. Okay, probably just 20.

  • Around 3 or 4 jokes. High joke-to-pixel ratio.

  • Ergonomic: Optimised for players who enjoy sitting down while playing.

  • Immersive Audio: Soundtrack includes noises recorded from extremely angry cats.

Every story needs a protagonist.

But what happens when the protagonist breaks character? (see what I did there?)
