About the Game

Three stages. One loop. No final level.

Mega Roids is a fast-paced arcade shooter that blends free-roaming space combat, a blistering canyon run, and a terrifying boss encounter into one relentless survival loop. Master all three stages, climb the leaderboards, and keep going until your lives run out.

Stage 1 — Roid Blaster

You're dropped into a spherical asteroid field with no walls and no safety net. Rocks wrap around the arena. So do your missiles. So do the aliens.

  • Blast big asteroids into medium, then small — each chain multiplies your points

  • Green and Blue alien fighters hunt treasure floating in the arena — kill them fast or lose it

  • Collect enough treasure to trigger a portal and advance to Stage 2

  • Watch your engine temperature — redlining too long will leave you crawling through a firefight

Stage 2 — Roid Run

A narrow canyon. High speed. No room for error.

  • First-person flight through a gauntlet of wall turrets, rim turrets, and mid-wall turrets

  • Hit any wall or the floor and you're gone — shields only stop missiles, not terrain

  • High-value orb targets appear in open stretches — 300 points each if you can grab them

  • Fly the exit portal at the end of the canyon to reach Stage 3 — miss it and it's over

Stage 3 — Mega Roids

Now available.

Face the alien Head. You orbit it at fixed range in a spherical arena. It knows where you are.

  • The Head is protected by a rotating icosphere shield — 80 destructible panels. Concentrate fire on one region to punch a gap, then pour missiles through

  • Eye missiles: The Head's eyes glow orange before firing two simultaneous shots — move or burn a shield

  • Mouth asteroids: High-speed rocks fired directly at your position. No shield will save you — only movement

  • Deal 25 direct hits to destroy the Head, then fly the exit portal to loop back to Stage 1

  • Shield panels you destroy stay gone between lives — progress is never wasted

The Loop

Every completed cycle increases the difficulty across all three stages — faster asteroids, more aggressive aliens, a harder canyon, a boss that hits more and hits faster. There is no final level. There is only score.

  • Lives and score carry over across all three stages

  • Bonus lives awarded every 5,000 points

  • Score cap: 999,999,999

Features

  • Full keyboard and gamepad support

  • Three distinct gameplay modes in one continuous loop

  • Escalating difficulty with no upper limit

  • Steam Achievements — Alien Slayer and Treasure Hunter tiers
