About the Game

MediAevi is a medieval fantasy colony sim that was inspired by such great titles as Dwarf Fortress and Rimworld.  Select from one of several playable races, and choose the best colonists to begin your colony.  Choose where to settle in a procedurally generated world, with other towns and settlements that will interact with you.  Build your colony, and research new technologies to advance your weapons, armor, spells, enchantments and more.  Keep everyone happy, and survive through Raids and attacks.

Playable Races

MediAevi features several playable races including Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, Orcs, and Lycans.  Each race has unique stats, which will influence their various skills.  As you expand your colony, through immigration or prisoners, you can create a diverse settlement with members of many races making up your population.

Generated Map

Every game of MediAevi will generate a unique map with procedurally generated landmasses, covered in geographical features such as rivers and mountain ranges.  The map will be populated with other settlements, which will interact with you throughout the game through trading, raiding, or immigration.  Select where you want to settle; a nice tropical forest, or a harsh arctic tundra, or any of a number of other unique biomes.

Gather and Craft

Gather resources from the plants, animals, and outcrops of your map.  Refine these resources at crafting tables to make more complex items.  As you advance in research new crafting recipes will become available, allowing you to make ever better items.  From lowly stone weapons and leather armours, to mythical Adamantium and Mithril items, craft a stronger civilization.

Research and Advance

Featuring a research tree, your colonists will be able to research new technologies and advance your civilization.  From gaining access to basic metalcrafting, spellcrafting, and enchanting, to more advanced forms of each, you can advance your ability to fight and defend your colony.  But you can also discover technologies to make your citizens more comfortable, such as heating and cooling options, and better medicines.

Survive

Raided by enemies, attacked by animals, and always at the mercy of the elements, your colony will be tested.  Arm and armour your colonists, and build magical defensive towers to fight off any enemies that dare attack your colony.  Build fires, and coolers to maintain comfortable indoor spaces.  And most importantly of all, keep your colonists fed, because starvation is only a few missed meals away.

Quests and Expeditions

Send your colonists to other towns in order to trade for new goods.  Receive quests across the world, and send your colonists on expeditions to complete those quests.  Quest expeditions include full map generation of whatever world tile the quest takes place on, and runs simultaneously to your settlement.  Carefully manage your colonists that are on quests, while keeping an eye at home.

Future Features

MediAevi is still in development, meaning not every planned feature has been added.  As development continues the following features are planned to be added:

  • Expeditions and Quests - Send your colonists across the map to explore and complete quests.

  • Expanded expeditions and quests to include more types of quests such as rescues, or treasure hunts

  • Spirituality - Characters will have unique belief systems that will influence their behaviour.

  • Character Traits - A traits system that will affect characters behaviour and abilities (think lazy, or picky eater).

  • More Playable Races - This includes halflings and undead as future playable races.

  • Environmental Events - Storms, floods, fires, blizzards.  The weather will become less predictable.

  • Animals and Beasts - Unicorns, dragons, phoenixes, elephants, rhinos and more will be added.

  • More Magic - More diverse spells and magic will be added on top of the basic system in place.
