7 itemsAbout the Game

In a world where information floods in and attention runs dry, remember the three things that matter most—clicks! clicks! and—clicks! Between reality and its image, just how far will you "edit"? And when a truth that concerns you sits right there, bare and unadorned—will you truly notice it?
Hide a Detail. Change the Whole Story.
Censoring is at the heart of the game. Take an ordinary photo, hide just a few key details, and suddenly it can tell an entirely different news story.
No Single Right Answer. Only Better Headlines
The same image can be censored in many different ways. Study the composition, actions, numbers, text, and relationships between people. Find the details most likely to be misread, and use your limited number of edits to create a story that draws even more attention.
Work for Traffic. Work for the City.
In Schein City, attention is energy. When citizens consume content, they generate “Schein”—the power that keeps the city’s lights, heating, transportation, and food supply running.
Your job is to take the material delivered to your desk each day and turn it into news worth stopping for.
Even After Work, You’re Still Living in the News.
Explore the city freely in a side-scrolling world. Wander through the office, ride the train, return home. Talk to people, interact with objects, listen to citizens discussing the news, and watch your own edited stories appear on TV.
Through the rhythms of everyday life, you may slowly begin to understand what kind of place you’re really living in.

Keep editing, and keep the Schein alive.
