About the Game

What is it?

Mad Chess is a game that maintains standard chess rules while adding 19 more unique factions to the game. Factions have the same pawns and king as classic chess, but the 4 other pieces, while having the same movement patterns, trade their reduced range for RPG abilities that break specific chess rules.

This makes Mad Chess easy to learn but hard to master. With 190 match-ups instead of 1, chess just got its biggest expansion pack in centuries. Madness? No. Mad Chess.

Twenty Factions, including:

  • Humans: Use the classic chess army that you all know with long-ranged units.

  • Mermaids: Bring the ocean with you by covering the chessboard with water.

  • Angels: Wield the Divine Light which grants protection & situational invincibility.

  • Dragons: Gain necrotic bonuses upon having your units captured.

  • Vampires: Consume your own troops to gain momentum & disturb enemy units.

  • Fairies: Protect your archers to capture enemies without moving from afar.

Key Features:

  • Adventure: 70+ missions campaign to help Princess Madeline vanquish the Silver Demons.

  • Versus: Play local games against a decent AI opponent (up to 1300 ELO) or another player.

  • Multiplayer: Play public or private games online against other players with custom rules.

  • Shop: Earn gold by playing to unlock factions and boards. (no microtransactions)
