About the Game

 Just a calm game

Lumenal gives you somewhere to put the world down for a while — no pressure, no action to survive, just quiet places and photos worth taking. Shoot the targets your assignments ask for, or turn around and shoot whatever caught your eye instead. Finish it in 3-4 hours, collect the achievements, and set it down.

 Every photo is worth something

Push your camera to its limit each day. Take as many shots as your battery allows, then keep the one you like best. Find the right angle and try to hit what the assignment is actually asking for.

When you're framing a subject, focus matters — nobody wants a blurry photo. And remember: if you want the best shot, you have to catch the moment.

 Nobody starts at the top

Your first camera isn't a DSLR. It's an old phone. The good photos you manage to squeeze out of it earn you a reputation, and that reputation unlocks new gear and new kinds of assignments. The further you get, the more they ask of you.

Same subject, three cameras, three different photos.

Spend what you earn on better gear — and yes, on rent.

 Different places, different subjects

Work across a handful of locations and shoot whatever the job calls for. It might be someone famous, it might be a cat, it might just be a storefront on the corner. Get better, and stranger requests start coming your way.

 It isn't always calm

Once you've built up your skills, hidden assignments start to open up — with achievements of their own. This is a quiet photography game, sure. But even photography has its risky corners, and these jobs are where you'll find them. Watch yourself.
