Story
Little Red Riding Hood is an expanded retelling of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale. It follows Little Red Riding Hood on her journey through the woods to her grandmother’s house, where she inevitably encounters the Big Bad Wolf.
While the core story remains the same, new additions have been made, including:
Woodpecker - A companion bird that players can direct to solve puzzles.
Quests - Additional steps in the story, such as going to buy the bread and wine, getting lost, spending the night in the woods, and more.
Folklore - Magical creatures from Germanic folklore and legends inhabit the forest. These creatures have multiple symbolic meanings that play into the themes of the original tale.
Gameplay
Third-person adventure - Players will assume the role of Little Red Riding Hood as they complete quests, solve puzzles, sneak to avoid evil creatures, and make their way to Grandma's house, all while the Big Bad Wolf is pursuing and scheming against them.
First-person horror - When entering indoor spaces or navigating tight areas, the camera automatically switches to first-person mode, making it easier to find items and terrifying to encounter the Big Bad Wolf.
Authentic Historical Setting
All buildings, interiors, items, and even the riding hood, are 3D scans of real-life historic objects.
The game starts off in a historic little village called Niehove, which was fully 3D scanned and recreated in this game to serve as Little Red's home village.
The various interiors and items in the game were 3D scanned at a local museum called Openluchtmuseum Het Hoogeland.
