Lilac Prose

A raw, cruel story about addiction, abuse, and recovery. A young man, bound by a vial of morphine, and a world that gives him just that, so long as there's a drop of him worth taking. It has to get worse before it gets better.

About the Game

“I thought it was the end. Thought it couldn't get any worse.

But the Tristan I told you about still sounds nothing like me, right?

It did get worse. It got much worse before it started getting better.”

Walk with Tristan through his experience as an addiction survivor. He will confront the world outside with all its noise and chaos. It will inevitably swallow him whole, reshape him, and spit him out. You’ll soon come to realize that his addiction was never a problem; it was a solution.

Those he meets each want their share. Be it his blood, his obedience, his suffering, his body, or everything in between. But even when the world is asleep, the shadows on the wall still giggle at his mistakes and weep at his misery. Sometimes they say he’s not worth it.

He can’t fight them all at once, so he chooses which side he surrenders to every day.

Tristan’s story spans multiple chapters as he goes through the lowest, darkest points of modern society in search of relief. He plunges to the bottom, and only then can he forge his own path up.

Lilac Prose deliberately explores less conventional, real subjects and strives to capture their essence. The goal is not to solve, judge, or condemn any of the topics, but to offer a neutral and faithful portrayal that is thinly veiled by fiction.
