About the Game

L8R SK8R is a 3D platformer inspired by the classics of the fifth generation but with a unique twist that will make you feel like a speedrunner.

Just like those classics, new areas in the hub world are unlocked with a collection mechanic, but instead of collecting stars, crystals, or dragons, you have to collect time.

When exploring the hub world, you’ll encounter time locks that hinder your progress.

These locks will require you to collect a certain amount of time in order to be opened.

Every time you beat a level, you’ll collect any time you shave off your previous best record. (Each level has a default record that it starts with. Basically a par time.)

So, for example, if you need another minute to open a lock, you could go back and beat the best times in three levels by 20 seconds. Or alternatively you could shave 10 seconds off of six levels. You might even find a shortcut that lets you take a whole minute off of just one level. The choice is yours!

  • Master the core movement mechanics; wall jumping, wall riding, air dashing, sliding, boosting, and of course, double jumping.

  • Play through 25 unique levels set across various time periods across all of history, including five boss fights.

  • Defeat robotic minions, and when you do you’ll earn a boost powerup that you can use later.

  • Explore the levels to find better routes, hidden shortcuts, and collectables.

  • Ever wanted to speedrun a game but felt too intimidated to start? L8R SK8R is a game that is built around making you approach it like a speedrunner, so it might just scratch that itch!
