About the Game

Journey to the West Chronicles is an action-packed level-clearing game based on the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, allowing players to embark on a thrilling journey of defeating demons and monsters in the familiar world of Journey to the West.

Players can choose to play as classic Journey to the West characters such as Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing. Each character retains their signature skills from the original work: Sun Wukong can use the "Cloud Somersault" for quick movement and sweep through groups of monsters with his Golden Cudgel; Zhu Bajie can transform into a giant pig to charge at enemies and stun targets with his Nine-Tooth Rake; Sha Wujing excels at long-range attacks with his Demon-Subduing Staff, balancing control and damage output. As the game progresses, characters can accumulate "Merit Points" by defeating monsters to unlock exclusive awakening skills—such as Sun Wukong’s "Troubling the Heavenly Palace," a full-screen AOE attack that significantly boosts combat power.

The game’s levels closely follow the Journey to the West storyline, from showcasing talents at Huaguoshan (Flower and Fruit Mountain), to subduing Sha Wujing at Liushahe (Flowing Sand River), and outwitting the Iron Fan Princess for the Banana Fan at Huoyanshan (Fiery Mountain). Each level is filled with unique monsters and mechanism puzzles: when facing the "White Bone Demon" and her clone illusions, players must identify the real body to attack effectively; while raiding "Pansi Cave" (Spider Cave), they need to avoid the spider demons’ web traps and solve the stone gate password simultaneously. Boss battles against foes like "Bull Demon King" and "Golden-Winged Great Peng" feature high health, powerful attacks, and exclusive ultimate moves, testing players’ positioning and skill combos.

Additionally, the game supports a two-player co-op mode, where players can team up with friends and complement each other’s character skills—for example, Zhu Bajie initiates control first, Sun Wukong follows up with damage, and Sha Wujing provides long-range support—to jointly overcome high-difficulty levels. After clearing levels, players can collect "Journey to the West Treasures" to unlock character skins and hidden storylines, further exploring the unknown secrets of the Journey to the West world and enjoying brand-new combat fun while revisiting the classic.
