About the Game

Iron Ledger is a high-pressure management sim about building a defense contractor from nothing and keeping it alive under constant financial, operational, and regulatory pressure.

You start with no facilities, no staff, no contracts, and very little room for error. To survive, you’ll need to secure government work, expand your production floor, hire engineers and operators, manage supply chains, maintain compliance, and keep your cash flow ahead of payroll, taxes, and penalties. Every decision affects the health of the company. Miss deadlines, overload your systems, or let your runway collapse, and the market will make the decision for you.

At the center of Iron Ledger is a numbers-driven industrial sandbox built around real pressure points. Materials have to be sourced. Facilities have to be built and staffed. Power has to be generated and balanced across the network. Research opens the door to more advanced production lines, but growth brings heavier scrutiny, steeper costs, and more complex contracts. What starts as a small manufacturing operation can become a sprawling defense enterprise handling aircraft, naval platforms, and strategic programs with enormous reputational and financial stakes.

As your company matures, new opportunities appear beyond the standard contract board. Restricted bio-chemical defense programs add a higher-risk strategic layer, challenging you to fund specialized facilities, absorb major up-front costs, and deliver countermeasures under tight timelines and intense pressure. Treat them as a side project and you will waste money. Build toward them properly and they can become one of the most lucrative and dangerous arms of the business.

Iron Ledger is about expansion under pressure. It is about choosing when to scale, when to conserve cash, when to absorb risk, and when to walk away from work your company is not ready to handle. The goal is not just to grow. The goal is to stay solvent, deliver on time, and survive long enough to become indispensable.
