About the Game

A little logic in every direction

Interlace is a collection of quiet puzzles that share one idea: make sense across, match colors down.

Every board is a small grid of tiles. Swap tiles within a row until each row reads true, and each column holds exactly the colors shown above it. The two rules pull against each other, and that is the puzzle: one choice is interlaced with another.

Three threads

  • Compose. Rearrange letters into words. Every letter belongs to a color, so later puzzles hide letters and let the colors tell you what they must be.

  • Balance. Arrange numbers into true equations. Trade plus, minus, times and divide signs between rows, and fill in missing digits.

  • Link. Join shape tiles end to end into chains, where each tile's right-hand shape matches the left-hand shape of the next.

Made to be unhurried

  • No timer. Take as long as you like.

  • Taught by doing: the first boards show you the move instead of explaining it.

  • Stuck? A nudge points the way, and a second tap shows a move.

  • Any arrangement that satisfies the rules wins, not only the one the puzzle was built from.
