About the Game

This Is the True Einstein Tile

Can a single type of tile cover a plane non-periodically?

This question, known as the "Einstein Problem" from the German *ein stein* meaning "one stone," puzzled mathematicians for decades.

In 2022, David Smith appeared to have finally found the answer. But that tile came with a catch——it could only fill the plane if mirror images were also allowed.

Then in 2023, David Smith and his colleagues discovered the truly aperiodic tile——one that requires no mirror images at all.

Creative Mode

Imagination is infinite.

Freely tile the plane and create your own original background.

Puzzle Mode

Fill the given frame using einstein tiles.

It's like a jigsaw puzzle——with no picture.
