8 itemsAbout the Game

A single-player first person shooter game, where the story occurs during the 18th century in a remote village somewhere in the mountains of northern Italy. You play in the role of an investigator, il Ricercatore della Organizzazione "Manus Dei" (Hand of God), an organization under the authority of the Papal States of the Roman Church, that was sent out to investigate rumors of a supposed resurrection miracle. However, alongside the rumors of the supposed miracle, there were even more disturbing ones of heresy and wicked profane rites in the village. It is your duty as a Ricercatore, to get to the bottom of the mystery and unveil the horrific truth.
Gameplay Features
Flintlock firearms:
Your past as a former soldier gave you the necessary experience to load, ram, prime and shoot efficiently a variety of these weapons. The use of black powder, paper wads and lead balls ammunition to make your firearms ready is very valuable knowledge, as it is to maintain your weapons condition to avoid malfunctions and misfires.
Crafting and inventory management:
Survival depends as much on preparation as it does on aim. Craft paper cartridges to combine powder and ball into ready-to-load ammunition, allowing for significantly faster reloads in moments of danger, though at greater cost in supplies. Measure your black powder carefully when loading firearms; while a little extra can make your shots more spicy, an excessive charge may strain the weapon and accelerate its deterioration. Maintain and repair worn firearms by salvaging parts from another weapon of the same model and using gun cleaning kits to keep them serviceable.
Melee combat:
You may be out of ammunition or black powder, but never out of options. Rely on your melee combat and fencing training to keep the enemies at bay and reduced. But be always aware of your surroundings and avoid getting overrun.
Scavenge for supplies:
Explore every corner in search of ammunition, food, water, and scarce supplies to keep your firearms serviceable, your body sustained, and your mind from slipping into ruin. Be aware that in this world, thorough exploration, though risky, is well rewarded.
Level up:
Progression is not tied to traditional leveling. Throughout the game, discover equipment upgrades that unlock additional firearm slots, inventory shortcuts, and faster reloading, ramming, and priming actions, allowing combat to become more fluid and effective as you advance.
Safe heaven:
There are multiple safe locations where you’ll be able to store items and save your game progress. However, most of these locations will be locked and you’ll have to find the keys to open them.
Maze-like scenarios:
You remember some paintings and people talking about this remote and picturesque village up north, but never being there yourself until that fateful day, so it's easy to get lost in its narrow alleys and especially in the nearby forest. Not to mention that the underground catacombs might become your final resting place.
A Message From The Development Team
We are a small indie studio made up of two friends that one day had a thrilling vision of a game, where Eldritch horrors roam the land, a deceived religious community starts to worship something that clearly isn’t God anymore, and you get to use antique weapons to defend yourself while getting to the bottom of the chaos.
It was exactly the kind of game we wanted to play, yet couldn't find anywhere, so we decided to make it ourselves.
We're developing this project without a publisher because preserving the original vision is very important to us. Creative freedom allows us to build the game exactly as we imagine it, driven solely by our passion for video games, firearms, monstrosities, and the stories they can tell.
Like many independent developers, we've built this project in our spare time while balancing work and everyday life. With your support, we hope to dedicate more time to development and continue creating the kind of experiences we feel are missing from the games we love.
We also believe that great games are shaped by the communities that grow around them. That's why we'll be opening a Discord and social media channels where you can share feedback, report issues, discuss ideas, and help us improve both “In Nomine…” and future projects.
If you've read this far, thank you very much for taking the time to learn about our game. Your support means more to us than you know, and we hope to create an experience worthy of your time, trust and enthusiasm.
