About the Game

Stop. Think. Then Strike.

IGNOTUS is a roguelike deckbuilding action RPG that combines real-time combat with the tactical feel of turn-based and tile-based strategy games.

Dodge enemy attacks, fight with your weapon, and when the right moment comes, deploy your Area.

The instant an Area is activated, time comes to a complete stop and a grid of tiles appears around the player. Skills collected throughout each run can then be placed directly onto the battlefield. Check their range, consider enemy positions, and choose where your attack will have the greatest impact before returning to real-time combat.

Fast-paced action and careful decision-making constantly alternate within the same battle.

Place Your Skills. Control the Battlefield.

Skills in IGNOTUS are not simply activated with the press of a button.

Each skill has its own range, effects, and possible interactions, and where you place it can completely change the outcome of an encounter. Catch several enemies in one attack, push them into a better position, stun them before they can strike, or escape a dangerous situation.

Discover new skills during each run and build your own combination of abilities.

Damage, knockback, stun, status effects, and other keywords interact with one another, allowing the same skill to serve very different purposes depending on your build and how you position it.

From Planning Back Into Action

Inside an Area, you have time to think.

Once it disappears, the battle immediately returns to real time.

Dodge incoming attacks, fight enemies directly with your weapon, and create an opening for your next move. When the battlefield becomes overwhelming—or when you see the perfect opportunity—deploy another Area and take control of the situation.

The constant transition between real-time combat and tactical skill placement is at the heart of IGNOTUS.

Return to a Kingdom Consumed by a Curse

Two kingdoms are at war.

You are a knight sent into battle, only to be defeated and taken prisoner by the enemy.

After finally escaping captivity, you return home expecting to find the kingdom you once knew. Instead, it has been transformed into a vast labyrinth by an unknown curse.

And the people you remember are still somewhere inside.

At first, parts of the kingdom may appear almost untouched. But when combat begins, the influence of the curse reveals itself.

Explore the labyrinth, uncover what happened while you were gone, and face the people who remained behind as they are gradually consumed by the curse.

The deeper you travel, the more you will learn about what transformed the kingdom—and what those you once knew endured during your absence.
