About the Game

Return to the Y2K, Rule the Neighborhood

You time-traveled back to the Y2K era, determined to initiate a "Ragnarok" rematch against the park hustlers who used to absolutely crush you in your childhood, all in the name of vindicating your chess mastery.

Arriving at that familiar neighborhood park, everything is just as you remember: birdcages, glass marbles, flora, old boomboxes... The elders greet you as usual: "Hey kid, figured out that endgame puzzle yet?" With a confident smirk, you declare your newfound galaxy-brain enlightenment. The elder chuckles contemptuously and immediately pulls you into a seat, as the neighbors gather around to watch.

Core Gameplay: Turn-Based Xiangqi Roguelike

  • Draw, Place, and Attack: Place pieces from your hand onto the 6x6 grid. Use the classic movement rules of Chariots, Horses, and Cannons to lock onto enemy black pieces, then hit "Settle" to score base hit points!
  • Legendary Street Formations: Form classic killer combos like "Linked Horses", "Intersecting Chariots", "Iron Bolt", or even "Eight Scholars" to trigger massive fixed base points and exponentially stacking global multipliers.
  • Y2K Street Items: Earn coins by clearing stages, and buy Y2K-flavored items from the shop like "Polished Baoding Walnuts", "Square Dance Boombox", or "Goji Berry Thermos". Or use consumables like "Tactical Cough" and "A Handful of Seeds" to survive tough spots.
  • Hardcore Elder Boss Battles: The steady Fan-waving Grandpa Zhao, the aggressive Grumpy Grandpa Li... Every few rounds, you must face off against neighborhood elders with special skills. They will use time-out taunts to lower your morale, randomly block grid spaces, and even use back-rank suppression!
