Hive Defender has recently undergone a massive expansion of scope, thanks to the success of a demo released as part of steam next fest, but progress has simultaneously slowed down due to a heavy work load towards the end of my PhD and moving into a post-doc.

Hive Defender is an co-op and PvE focused RTS which aims to hit that "easy to pick up, impossible to master" sweet spot, where the game is made to be enjoyable at all skill levels by offering accessible, but rewarding depth of gameplay.
There are only 4 unit types : Warrior and Supporter - and - Miner and Builder. But each one is designed to be used together for maximum effectiveness, and each of which offers unique skills that you can customize and upgrade throughout the match as you level up! Do you turn your miner into an aggressive explosives specialist to accompany the warrior in battle, or into a hyper-productive resource gather, protected by the builder's turrets? It's up to you and the re-rollable powerups you unlock as you advance in rank!
Oh -- and did I mention it all takes place inside of a procedurally generated, fully destructible labyrinth and that you play as the aliens? :)
