About the Game

A MAZE YOU CAN'T SEE ALL AT ONCE

Hextracer is a time-trial puzzle game about navigating procedurally generated hex mazes with limited visibility.

You begin each level at the center and can only see nearby tiles. More of the maze appears as the timer runs, so you can move with incomplete information or wait for a clearer route and lose time. Reach the goal using six-direction movement, then complete every level to finish the run.

REPLAY THE SAME RUN

Reuse a seed and run setup to replay the same sequence of mazes. Learn better routes, compare your time against your personal best, and see where you gained or lost time on each level. Run history also records your steps and resets.

CHOOSE HOW THE MAZE WORKS

Open Grid builds the maze from the shape of its playable tiles. Walled Grid fills the board and uses walls to create its routes. Both styles grow across longer runs as each new level gets larger.

ADD OPTIONAL MODIFIERS

Solo runs can include optional Modifier pickups. They may send you to the opposite side when you step past an edge, require two matching inputs, briefly freeze or hide the maze, rewind recent moves, or show the direction of the goal. Leave them off for the standard rules.

RACE THE SAME MAZES

Race online with up to six players on the same seeded maze sequence. Create a room with a code or Steam invitation, see nearby opponents as colored ghosts, and follow live standings through the final result.

  • Procedural, seeded mazes that can be replayed with the same settings
  • Open Grid and Walled Grid maze styles
  • Limited visibility that expands while the timer runs
  • Six-direction movement with tap or hold controls
  • Configurable run lengths with progressively larger levels
  • Run history with personal bests, level splits, steps, and resets
  • Optional solo Modifier pickups that change movement and visibility
  • Online races for two to six players with shared mazes and live standings
