About the Game

What is HexSwarm?

HexSwarm: Hostile Worlds is a co-op strategy board game. You and 1 to 5 of your friends are tasked with colonizing a hostile alien planet. Your have a number of buildings, research, and unique mecha pilots at your disposal to complete this task.
Can you survive the swarm?

The Planet

Every game is played on a uniquely generated map. It all begins in the center, with your settlement. Every turn, you'll be drawing Trapezoid-Shaped Tiles to place. These non-standard tiles lead to unusual, unique, challenging, and innovative experiences. They drive your expansion as you clear bugs and rocks, remove hives, and construct mines, labs, and turrets to keep your economy growing and safe. But don't forget the power plants to keep it all running.

The Team

Take on one of 7 Unique roles, each with distinctive art for both the mechs and their pilots.

  • Analyst - Optimized for defense and adaptation, help the team by cycling cards for cheap, and providing extra defense to your base structures.

  • Biologist - Optimized for SCIENCE! The Biologist will make sure your team can afford every piece of tech their hearts desire.

  • Constructor - Optimized for optimizing, the constructor brings the ability to build remotely and cheaply. Your economy will thank you.

  • Excavator - Optimized for turns rocks into not-rocks. You tackle the opposite end of the economy equation. Rather than building things cheaply, you'll be stuffing the coffers full of raw materials.

  • Exterminator - Optimized to remove threats,  your Action economy when it comes to removing bugs is unmatched. Remove twice as many as your friends, or remove bugs while performing secondary actions to keep your team on tempo.

  • Frontliner - Optimized for relentless fronts. The bugs don't stop you like they stop others. Your unmatched mobility and the ability to establish security under fire will make sure you're never left stranded by a stray bug.

  • Siegemaster - Optimized for complex situations; the siegemaster breaks the rules by letting you affect tiles you aren't on. Removing bugs from places you normally couldn't, and with more power than anyone else.
