About the Game

Welcome to "Hew Many Foemen". 

Hew Many Foemen is a hack'n' slash roguelite built around simple, juicy combat in Norse aesthetics and dreamy voxel-lowpoly hybrid graphics.  

  • Sweet spot combat - strike your axe in the right rhythm to chain powerful combos. 

  • Blessings and upgrades - collect Hugr Seeds from fallen enemies to use your skills, or meditate to store them as currency to buy permanent power-ups

  • Bite-sized runs — Sessions are short and sweet. Play a full run on a lunch break. I built this game for busy people like myself.

  • Norse atmosphere — windy archipelagos, shrines, runes and changing weather. I want to bring as much atmosphere as I can, despite the frantic nature of the combat

Clear islands from corrupted guardians in bite-sized quests - I built this game for busy people like myself. 

The Story

The new faith has come and destroyed the world order.  The spacetime has collapsed and your family dissolved into a gap between the worlds. The only way to bring your family back is to heal the memories of the old world. 

Sail to islands frozen in time and cleanse them from corrupted warriors of the old faith - let them die in combat like they always wanted.  

Find the hearts of memories - Minneshjerte - kept by the Landvaettir - corrupted guardians spirits of the land.  Use them to pull your family back from the void.

Every run brings you a little closer.
