The Shining City is a city-state, a developed scientific and cultural center, where people from neighboring countries flock in search of a better life. A city where science and magic created a stunning tandem, a city that could withstand the forces of nature, able to withstand any adversity. It seemed that nothing could shake the tranquility of its inhabitants. But this city has its own dark secrets and secrets that he tried to hide. But there will come a time when it will have to pay the price.
Kara is a rich educated girl looking for her place in life. She dreams of making life in the city better and in many ways does not agree with the existing rules. She sincerely wants to save the inhabitants from the impending threat.
Sora is Kara's loyal friend and guardian. A slave in the past and now the most dangerous of the Shining City's warriors. He has lost his freedom and his ability to make choices. Perhaps Kara can fix that?
Kalem is a miraculously surviving merchant that Kara and her company met in the desert. Charming, well-read, romantic, but at the same time, little is known about him. How did he end up in the middle of the desert? Can he be trusted? Or will he lead the heroine into a new trap set by ancient forces?
Alek cares only about himself, and sees the world in very dark colors. It was influenced by his past, which cannot be forgotten, and the present in which he is forced to exist. Will Kara be able to restore his faith in humanity?
