What is Grounders the playground game:
Grounders is a popular variation of tag played on playgrounds where the person/s who are it must keep their eyes closed and the person/s being chased must stay off of the ground. If a player is on the ground, a Grounder (someone who is it) can call "Grounders" and catch them without having to touch them. The game ends when all players are caught.
What is Grounders the Video game:
Grounders the video game takes what Grounders the playground game does right and cranks it up to 11. With procedurally generated playgrounds, and room for up to 10 players per match, chasing your friends (or strangers) around this virtual world will never get old! All of the common tropes of Grounders the playground game work in our virtual world, from the previously mentioned grounders call to things like broken dishes and upsies. Enjoy new ways to play with imagination/magic that brings sticks (wands), rocks (talismans), and even magic marbles to life. Blast your friends with toy guns and trick the blind seekers with contraptions made from building blocks. Modify the game rules to fit how you played when you were a kid, or make a totally new playground game with our customizable rule sets and steam workshop integration!
