Greedling: 2D Boss Rush

A silly-but-violent 2D boss rush where a laser-shooting eyeball battles deranged cartoon monsters in bullet-hell chaos. Time your special attacks, recover mid-fight, and survive gory slapstick deaths again and again.

About the Game

HearthWound is a hand-crafted 2D bullet-hell boss rush where every fight is a focused test of timing, pattern mastery, and precision dodging, built by two friends who love designing challenging, expressive boss encounters.

No grinding. No filler. Just you, a wandering eye, and a series of handcrafted battles that reward patience, skill, and stubborn determination.

If you enjoy learning attack patterns, squeezing through pixel-tight dodges, and improving one attempt at a time, HearthWound delivers that satisfying “one more try” feeling in its purest form.

🎥 Gameplay Preview

These GIFs show the core of HearthWound: readable patterns, clean telegraphs, tight dodges, and expressive boss design.

🎯 What Makes HearthWound Unique

🩸 Handcrafted Multi-Phase Boss Fights

Every boss is manually designed with unique mechanics, clear telegraphs, and escalating pressure phases. No randomness — every pattern is intentional, learnable, and challenging.

⚔️ Bullet-Hell Meets Soulslike Precision

Fast projectiles, tight iframe dodges, punish windows, and high-stakes duels define the combat. Your success comes from reading patterns and reacting with precision, not grinding stats.

🔥 Special Attacks & Life Recovery

Your main laser handles constant pressure, but your right-click Special Attack opens burst windows and counterplay moments.
Use Life Gain (R) mid-fight — if you dare. Healing creates openings but exposes you to risk.

🎮 Crisp Readability & Fair Challenge

Clear visuals, distinct rhythms, and intentional pacing help you survive even when the arena overflows with bullets.
If you take a hit, you’ll know exactly why — and how to avoid it next time.

💛 Made by a Tiny Team with Big Passion

HearthWound is built by two indie developers who grew up loving boss fights. Every pattern, sound, and visual cue is crafted with attention and heart.
