Glypha: Vintage

A fast-paced, Egyptian-themed jousting tournament recalls 1980's classic arcade action. Glypha is a rewrite of the classic shareware game from the early B&W Macintosh days. Smoother, faster, and harder than you remember.

About the Game

A fast-paced, Egyptian-themed jousting tournament recalls 1980's classic arcade action.

Glypha, the classic shareware game on the early Macintosh, now landed in the 21st Century ... but not too much. It still has that classic early Mac look, but 21st Century hardware acceleration, gameplay and feel. (The consensus seems to be that it is a wee bit harder now.)

Game play:

You control your player with only three controls:
  • Left (player goes to the left)
  • Right (player goes right)
  • Flap (your bird flaps to climb)
To do battle with your opponents, collide with them.

But be careful, whoever's weapon is higher than the other's wins the battle!

Opponents:

There are a number of opponents — some more challenging than others. Should you survive long enough you'll find out just how challenging. Points for defeating an opponent are shown below:

Additionall controls allow you to:
  • Pause (pause and unpause the game)
  • Fullscreen (toggle fullscreen)
