About the Game

GETTING DATES IRL

Because dating is actually a Roguelike. I just made the rules visible.

THE INSPIRATION The idea for Getting Dates IRL came from "approaching 100 strangers" social media experiments. As a solo developer, I didn't want to make a "pick-up simulator." Instead, I wanted to gamify the risk-reward system of social interaction. My goal was to create a fun environment where players can push through social anxiety and learn that rejection isn't the end of the world—it’s just the start of a new run.

CORE FEATURES

  • Social Extraction Gameplay: Collect phone numbers as loot, but you only keep them if you make it back home to your computer to "save" your progress.

  • Confidence is your HP: If your Confidence hits zero due to awkward interactions, you faint from social exhaustion and lose your run.

  • Rogue-lite Progression: You might lose the numbers, but your XP is permanent. Level up to become more efficient with every night out.

NIGHTMARE MODE: SURVIVAL

After completing the final date, the city's face changes. A secret FPS mode unlocks where social anxiety turns into physical monsters: swarms of zombies roaming the streets. Same city, different rules—pure survival.
