"Gear of Glass: Marionette of Time" is a visual novel with RPG elements. You control a heroine named Emily, moving through locations and making plot choices. Your choices will determine not only your fate, but also Emily's character. To do this, the game provides four characteristics that are upgraded depending on how you respond to characters: Intelligence, Charisma, Power and Perception. Emily's behavior will change according to which characteristic dominates.
If you have been wanting to learn more about the world of Gear of Glass beyond the underground walls, this RPG is for you! But if you are a newcomer and know nothing about this universe, the game is a standalone experience that is completely beginner-friendly!
Emily Teldonpen. She remained only a sad note in Christian's diary—the reason for his rebellion. But what if her fate had been different? The doomed house of cards would crumble to dust, and the river of history would flow in a completely different way. But how? It depends on you. Uncover the secrets of the Unnamed City—a proud remnant on the face of a world dying from the effects of the Last War—and find your love among three suitors.
There are three candidates for Emily's heart in the game.
Gregory is a distant relative of Emily. He is twenty-one years old and determined to run for Parliament in order to change his beloved Unnamed City. Some might call him an adventurer, others might call him a romantic, but one thing is for sure—he is one of those who really wants to change the world around him. Emily treats him coldly, but maybe now is the time to change that.
Christian is the new servant at the Teldonpen estate. He's taciturn, secretive, and emotionless—a mystery that Emily can't wait to solve. Their social standing, their upbringing, their manners—everything separates them like an impassable moat. Will Emily give up, or will she walk the whole thorny path to his heart?
Jack is the leader of one of the gangs terrorizing the streets of the Unnamed City. The circumstances of their first meeting are full of unspoken tension. Jack reminds her of a hurricane, just as dangerous and unpredictable. Will she be able to see what he is hiding behind his carefully constructed walls?
