6 itemsAbout the Game
You are Goya, a young raccoon determined to complete your village’s sacred rite of passage. To prove yourself, you must face — and defeat — nine fearsome opponents in a relentless gauntlet. Will you overcome the trials and earn the right to leave your village and explore the world beyond?
Forest Rites is a card battler inspired by trick-taking games. It’s meant to be a compact, gameplay-driven experience with very light narrative elements. I made this between 2021 and 2024 in my spare time as a fun experiment around a rarely-seen mechanic in video games.
Features:
Short length (30 to 45 minutes per game)
Roguelike progression
Fight your opponents through a card system inspired by trick-taking games
Face the forest's masters, each with their own fighting style and strategy
Two modes available: beginner and normal
In normal mode, your score is saved at the end of each game: try to beat your best score and climb the leaderboard!
