About the Game

First Moon of Mercury is a narrative puzzle game about power and trust: who you trust with power, and if that power will save us or destroy us. The outcome depends on you, an illegal AI tasked with protecting the mission. As the only defense floating between Earth and the power of the Sun, choose carefully who to trust.

The Puzzles

Inspired by 3D puzzle boxes, you must decipher and connect incoming modules to build the growing station. As a system control unit, every change you make requires a crew member’s approval, but be careful: each person on the crew has their own agenda. Solve puzzle boxes and trust wisely.

The World

It is 2066. Three decades after a solar storm shattered civilization, a fragile alliance has launched the First Moon of Mercury to shield Earth from the Sun’s fury. But beneath the promise of renewal, rival powers fight to control the mission - and the future of humanity.

The Factions

‘Ecotechs’ to their opponents, Futurists are the movement spearheaded by engineers, scientists, and tech CEOs. They forge ahead through the unprecedented climate crisis, confident that geoengineering will solve any challenge. They rally behind The Future Party, a collection of forward-thinkers mounting projects at a global scale.

Born out of the societal collapse caused by the geomagnetic storm, the term ‘Boom Timers’ is often slung derisively their way. Longing for the free market to reign again, and forever skeptical of humanity’s role in climate change, they have formed The Common Party to reclaim the prosperity of the past.

‘Unpluggers’ saw the catastrophic effects of the solar storm as a wake-up call to the world. We humans need to scale back our technology and live more simply. Those who denounce their back-to-nature approach call them ‘Doomers’, but The Realist Party has no shortage of loud and deeply engaged members.
