About the Game

Grab the sun. Burn the swarm.

You are the magnifying glass. Bugs skitter across the screen. Point, hold, and cook.

Track. Burn. Chain.

Your beam heats whatever sits under it. Drift, and it cools. Hold steady, and things start to smoke.

Bugs know what's happening. As they heat up, they panic — accelerating, jittering, breaking in every direction to escape the light. Catch one before it bolts and you ignite it. Ignite another before the combo bar empties and your multiplier climbs. Miss a beat and the chain snaps back to 1x.

It's simple. It's mean. It gets very fast.

Build a beam that breaks the game.

Every ignition earns Sparks. Every round ends at the upgrade tree. Push raw power, a bigger lens, hotter beam, faster cooldown or bolt on new physics entirely.

Make dying bugs explode, torching everything nearby. Split your heat ray toward the nearest survivor. Drag the beam to leave a burning trail across the field. Turn ignitions into spore clouds that choke the swarm and stop them cooling. Flash cyan-hot criticals that shatter bugs for bonus payouts and shake the screen loose.

Grab a mid-round drop and everything slows to a crawl, or your beam overcharges, or the whole screen ignites at once in a Solar Flare.

Bigger bugs. Bigger fires.

Score enough and the round meter maxes out. That's when the Tier Bosses arrive.

Each one brings it's own challenge.

Beat one and you permanently unlock the next tier of enemies for every run after.

Three ways to burn.

  • Arcade — Climb the enemy tiers, break the bosses, build the loadout.

  • Hard — unlocked after you clear Arcade. The clock runs shorter and Sparks pay half. Bugs hit harder, move faster, run wilder.

  • Zen — every upgrade maxed, no timer, no consequences. A fully-powered lens and a screen full of bugs. Vaporize the swarm.

Fire Bug is a solo-built arcade game about the very small, very violent joy of finally catching that one bug that thought it got away.

Grab the sun.
