About the Game

About This Game

FATHER after 40 is a pixel-art roguelite strategy game about surviving middle age.

You play as an ordinary man after the age of 40, facing work pressure, family bills, health problems, debt, temptation, and the small daily disasters that slowly wear people down.

This is not a story about becoming a hero.

It is about trying not to be completely crushed by life.

You Do Not Level Up. You Grow Older.

In most games, a higher level means you become stronger.

In FATHER after 40, you do not level up.

You grow older.

The higher your age rises, the closer you are to death. Your reaction time becomes shorter, recovery becomes harder, and life gives you less room to make mistakes.

Every year you survive is not just progress.

It is also another step toward the end.

A Different Life Every Run

Each run begins with a different life situation.

You may have a mortgage.

You may have children.

You may be carrying debt.

Your parents may need help.

Your body may already be sending warnings.

These starting conditions shape your money, pressure, risks, and the events you will face.

Fight Life With Attitude

Battles are not about swords, spells, or traditional monster killing.

Instead, you deal with pressure through different attitudes and choices.

Sometimes you push back.

Sometimes you reason.

Sometimes you endure.

Sometimes you give in, spend money, or simply try to get through the day.

Every encounter is a short psychological struggle against work, family, desire, debt, and yourself.

Manage What You Have Left

Your survival depends on several fragile resources:

  • Energy

  • Dignity

  • Desire

  • Savings

Every movement, every encounter, and every compromise brings you closer to the next year of your life.

As you grow older, time becomes shorter, pressure becomes heavier, and every choice matters more.

Explore a City Full of Pressure

Move through different parts of everyday life:

  • Residential neighborhoods

  • Office buildings

  • Hospitals

  • Night markets

  • Schools

  • Commercial districts

  • Your hometown

Each place brings different events, temptations, problems, and strange encounters.
