Is everyone just fending for themselves - or is there any empathy left after all?

"Facing the rain" is a story-driven RPG, without battles but with impactful decisions.

Take the role of Billy, a young girl embarking on her first job as a hotel maid, in a town called Drumberg - which is nowhere in particular. Soon she realizes, there is a tragic heaviness weighing down on the hotel and its people. But she has the power to transform the place - if she makes the right choices.

Game Features:

  • This game interactively tells a fictional yet relatable story centered around themes of grief and depression, but also positivity.

  • The player’s actions will determine the outcome of the story.

  • Guide your character through an immersive 2D pixel-graphics-based world. Make your way to the hotel, discover the building and its surroundings, go into town and visit shops, and explore a metaphorical forest.

  • Interact with other characters: The player will meet different types of characters that present opinions or problems that require to engage thoughtfully.

  • In addition to the main plot, you will collect items and solve problems or puzzles in an adventure-style manner.

  • Discover secrets and succeed in challenges to unlock steam achievements.

  • Randomized elements add variety to each playthrough, enhancing the game’s replay value.

  • Contains original music crafted exclusively for the story that is being told.

  • Playtime is roughly 2-3 hours.
