About the Game

Cell + Genes = Constant Evolution

EvoluCell is a top-down action roguelike. You are an immune cell mutating on a microscopic battlefield—rendered in a bio-horror style of wet tissue, membranes, and microbes: grotesque but readable silhouettes with soft, painterly shading—not retro pixel art.

Combat Loop: Shoot, Devour, Storm

  • Shoot — pressure enemies from range until they enter a weak state
  • Devour — consume weak targets for Gene and instant clears, but each gulp adds Burden
  • Inflammation Storm — when Burden overflows, unleash a burst window: double fire rate and scorching area damage—at the cost of no devouring and taking more damage

Every storm is a gamble: devour more to fuse faster, or hold back and control the field. Offense, metabolism, and explosion share one rhythm.

Gene Library: Four Tracks, Three Layers

Spend Gene earned in combat at intermission shops and install fragments into your library:

  • Common — cell body, movement, and firing
  • Weapon — projectile damage, pierce, and weapon morphs
  • Devour — swallow radius, cooldown, and metabolic rules
  • Inflammation — storm radius, duration, and elemental variants

Growth is layered, not a flat stat checklist:

  • Direct Evolution — immediate numeric and mechanical effects per fragment
  • Morph Evolution — track recipes unlock visible transformations for your cell and bullets
  • Ultimate Evolution — a full library culminates in a capstone form at the run’s climax

Run Pacing

Chapters, kill quotas, full-screen shops, and boss fights weave into a tight campaign—roughly 15–20 minutes per full run. Every chapter asks the same question: what is your cell becoming?
