An HD-remaster of a comedy-horror visual novel from 2009, mixing classical Russian literature with the walking dead.
Eugene Onegin vs. the Undead is an enhanced and updated version of a visual novel game that was considered quite controversial upon its release due to an unorthodox approach to the source material. The source material in question is Alexander Pushkin's Eugene Onegin, which is considered one of the defining works of Russian literature.
The game is available in English, Chinese and Japanese for the first time ever. If you're not familiar with 19th century Russian literature, then Eugene Onegin vs. the Undead is a colorful and at times quite bonkers dark comedy set in the early 1800s. If you're familiar with the source material, then it is a bizarre glam rock pandemonium.
The original Eugene Onegin game was one of the milestones for the visual novel genre in Russia. In fact, it was the third game in this genre ever produced in the country. The first two were developed by the same team , which is important because the very first Russian visual novel, a short game called Book of the Dead: The Lost Souls, is unlockable here in Eugene Onegin vs. the Undead, also in the remastered form and, once again, for the first time in a language other than Russian. So you actually get two games instead of one.
