You are a Magister, a wizard with the unique ability to open portals to different parts of the world - Shards, shattered by the Cataclysm. As a Magister like you, you can pass through portals safely for yourself and your team.
The Shards, known to all Magisters, serve as an arena for thousands of players. Here you will find city-states where every decision you make will affect the future of the world. Take part in grand events that determine the fate of the universe. Build cities, manage them through diplomacy or force, and become a key player in this epic journey.
Explore the shattered world and find maps that are only accessible to you. You'll encounter a wide variety of races and creatures, from lizardmen and skeletons to golems and various human ethnicities and cultures.
But don't just try to categorise these characters as good or evil. In Empolicy, each race and faction has its own interests and goals. The choice is yours: will you ally yourself with the orcs or prefer the path of a supreme necromancer? Or perhaps the idea of becoming an elven ruler appeals to you? Either way, your choices will affect the world around you and its inhabitants.
Complete faction quests, trade with them, hire their representatives into your squads, spy for them, fight with and for them.
If you can't do it alone, friends can help! Invite your friends to the Shards of the shattered world you find and work together to overcome the toughest challenges. Create new maps with the map editor and play with like-minded companions.
You have a consistent pool of heroes and inventory throughout the game. Money earned in single-player quests can be used to hire troops on multiplayer maps and vice versa. A unique teleportation system allows you to move heroes between maps instantly, allowing you to respond quickly to current needs and strategic tasks.
Warriors use brute force to solve problems.
Diplomats persuade and negotiate.
Scouts scout, weaken and kidnap.
Mages are capable of anything.
Build trade ports, mines, pastures and other buildings to extract important resources from your land.
In towns, you can build workshops to increase the range of goods available, from armor to jewelry. These goods will allow you to effectively equip your heroes and their troops.
Upgrade buildings and study new blueprints and production techniques to provide your subordinates with increasingly powerful improvements.
