About the Game

Dopamine Rogue is a life-simulation roguelike with a strong psychological focus and RPG elements, about surviving your own mind — in the gentlest or the harshest way possible.

The goal seems simple: climb the social ladder and land your dream job.
But does the perfect job really mean the best ending?

🤝 Relationships, Choices, and Consequences

Build friendships, complete quests, and earn items and experience that grant real advantages.
Each relationship unlocks new stories and narrative paths.

Manage your time carefully: go to work, visit shops, and meet NPCs on specific days and times — they have their own routines and lives too.

🎭 Deep Narrative

Experience life stories that are beautiful or disturbing.
Discover 8 different endings, shaped by your choices.

Dopamine: Resource and Curse

Manage your dopamine wisely.
With it, you gain advantages. Without it, you’ll be forced to face your demons once again.

There are many ways to gain dopamine — through good or bad actions —
which may harm yourself… or others.

💼 Work, Money, and Survival

Earn money to cover basic needs or make life easier.
Work, study to build a solid career, or follow darker paths.

Choose your direction:

  • Bartender

  • Call center agent

  • Janitor

Or study to achieve the job of your dreams.

🃏 Progression and Endless Replayability

Level up and, at each milestone, choose one of three perk cards.
Find or buy items that make every run unique.

Collect Emotional Intelligence (EI) Coins and unlock permanent upgrades, returning stronger with each new attempt.

🏠 Comfort, Routine, and Small Victories

Perform simple, relaxing actions — washing dishes, organizing books — accompanied by comforting ambient sounds.
Take trips and small outings to recover dopamine, for both the character and the player.

Take care of your home, your comfort zone.
Buy furniture, improve your well-being, eat better… and maybe even adopt a cat.

🔁 Procedural World and Unique Stories

Every run is different.
Locations, events, and stories are procedurally generated.

Start with random strengths and weaknesses:

  • Neurodivergent (ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia)

  • Neurotypical (no bonuses or penalties)

Live through the character’s childhood and try not to develop trauma —
or learn to grow with a resilient mind.

🧠 Face Your Own Mind

Explore the labyrinth of a troubled mind.
Which door is the right one? Which key truly fits?

Confront your inner demons — trauma, syndromes, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and the harsh reality of everyday life.
Each demon requires a different approach in every run. Make the wrong choice, and there’s no turning back.

You can seek help, visit a psychiatrist, and learn how to overcome them…
or try to ignore them — though that’s never recommended.
